Policing and Crime Act 2009
An Act to make provision about the police; to make provision about prostitution, sex offenders, sex establishments and certain other premises; to make provision for reducing and dealing with the abuse of alcohol; to make provision about the proceeds of crime; to make provision about extradition; to amend the Aviation Security Act 1982; to make provision about criminal records and to amend the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Northern Ireland) Order 2007; to confer, extend or facilitate search, forfeiture and other powers relating to the United Kingdom’s borders or elsewhere; to make further provision for combatting crime and disorder; to repeal redundant provisions; and for connected purposes.  More Info
Crime and Security Act 2010
An Act to make provision about police powers of stop and search; about the taking, retention, destruction and use of evidential material; for the protection of victims of domestic violence; about injunctions in respect of gang-related violence; about anti-social behaviour orders; about the private security industry; about possession and use of electronic communications devices in prison; about air weapons; for the compensation of victims of overseas terrorism; about licensing the sale and supply of alcohol; about searches in relation to persons subject to control orders; and for connected purposes.  More Info
The Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 7 and Savings Provision) Order 2008
Article 2 of this Order brings into force paragraphs 9 and 10 of Schedule 2 to the Police and Justice Act 2006. Article 3 provides that despite the repeal of the obligation on police authorities to issue annual reports under section 9 of the Police Act 1996 police authorities shall be required to issue a report under that section for the year ending 31st March 2008  More Info
The Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996 (Code of Practice) (Armed Forces) Order 2008
This Order make provision equivalent, subject to modifications, to provisions of Part 2 of the 1996 Act and the code made under it. The main modifications are to adjust the provisions in and under Part 2 of the 1996 Act to take account of the structure and operation of service courts and of the service police  More Info
The Metropolitan Police Authority Regulations 2008
Part 1 of the Regulations provides that they apply in respect of the members of the Metropolitan Police Authority appointed on or after 1st October 2008 and makes transitional provisions. Part 2 of the Regulations provides for the appointment of Metropolitan Police Authority members, for the appointment of chairman and vice-chairman, for the disqualification of members, their tenure of office, the validity of their acts and their allowances and those of the authorities’ standards committee. Part 3 of the Regulations provides for the establishment of a selection panel to nominate persons for appointment as independent members of the Metropolitan Police Authority and for provisions governing the how that panel advertises for and makes such nominations  More Info
The Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) (No. 2) Regulations 2009
These Regulations, which come into force on 12th October 2009, amend the purposes for which an application for an enhanced criminal records certificate can be made under section 113B of the Police Act 1997 (“the Act”). The Regulations also prescribe the cases in which those persons making such an application may receive suitability information in respect of children (under section 113BA of the Act) or vulnerable adults (under section 113BB of the Act).  More Info
Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007
An Act to create a new offence that, in England and Wales or Northern Ireland, is to be called corporate manslaughter and, in Scotland, is to be called corporate homicide; and to make provision in connection with that offence.  More Info
The Police Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 2008
These Regulations amend the Police Pensions Regulations 1987, the Police Pensions (Purchase of Increased Benefits) Regulations 1987, the Police (Injury Benefit) Regulations 2006, the Police Pensions Regulations 2006 and the Police Pension Fund Regulations 2007. These amendments make provision for such Regulations to apply to a “specified employee of SOCA”. Specified employees of the Serious Organised Crime Agency (“SOCA”) are those who immediately before joining SOCA, were serving as the Director General of the National Crime Squad, or a police member of the National Crime Squad or the National Criminal Intelligence Service  More Info

The Police and Justice Act 2006 (Commencement No. 4) Order 2007
This Order brings into force on 10th October 2007 in Scotland and Northern Ireland section 41 of the Police and Justice Act 2006.  More Info
Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008
An Act to make further provision about criminal justice (including provision about the police) and dealing with offenders and defaulters; to make further provision about the management of offenders; to amend the criminal law; to make further provision for combatting crime and disorder; to make provision about the mutual recognition of financial penalties; to amend the Repatriation of Prisoners Act 1984; to make provision for a new immigration status in certain cases involving criminality; to make provision about the automatic deportation of criminals under the UK Borders Act 2007; to amend section 127 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 and to confer power to suspend the operation of that section; and for connected purposes.  More Info
The Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 (Violent Offender Orders) (Notification Requirements) Regulations 2009
These Regulations set out the notification requirements for a person who is subject to a violent offender order (or an interim violent offender order) under Part 7 of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 (the “2008 Act”) who wishes to travel outside the United Kingdom.  More Info
The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 (Amendment of Schedule 1) Order 2008
This Order amends Schedule 1 to the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 to update the list of government departments etc which can be guilty of the offence of corporate manslaughter (under the law of England and Wales or Northern Ireland) or corporate homicide (under the law of Scotland).  More Info

An Act to provide for customs functions to be exercisable by the Secretary of State, the Director of Border Revenue and officials designated by them; to make provision about the use and disclosure of customs information; to make provision for and in connection with the exercise of customs functions and functions relating to immigration, asylum or nationality; to make provision about citizenship and other nationality matters; to make further provision about immigration and asylum; and for connected purposes.  More Info
The Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) (Amendment) Regulations 2008
These Regulations amend regulations 5A and 8A of the Police Act 1997 (Criminal Records) Regulations 2002 to extend the purposes in respect of which applications for enhanced criminal record certificates can be made and to extend the positions in respect of which suitability relating to adults may be disclosed on criminal record certificates or enhanced criminal record certificates  More Info
The Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 (Commencement No.1 and Transitional Provisions) Order 2008
This Order brings into force section 26 and related provisions of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008 on 9th June 2008, subject to the transitional provisions in articles 3 and 4. Section 26 imposes a duty on the Secretary of State to release certain long-term prisoners (prisoners serving sentences of imprisonment of at least four years) subject to the release arrangements in the Criminal Justice Act 1991 (‘the 1991 Act’) at the half-way point of their sentence on licence until sentence expiry  More Info

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 (Commencement No.1) Order 2008
This Order brings into force from 6th April 2008 the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 to the extent that it is not already in force, other than section 2(1)(d) (duty owed to a person in custody etc. to be a relevant duty of care for the purposes of the Act) and section 10 (power to order conviction etc to be publicised). Until such time as section 2(1)(d) is commenced, section 20, which abolishes the existing common law offence of gross negligence manslaughter by corporations, will not apply in respect of custodial duties  More Info
The Police Authority Regulations 2008
