These notices are very similar. Use PR701 at any time before the last day of the fixed term. Use PR702 after the fixed term has expired.
This notice:
will terminate an assured shorthold tenancy;
must provide the information as intended on the form;
must be in writing (that is, not merely verbal);
may be served at any time during the tenancy, even if it expires after the end of the fixed term;
must give at least two months notice.
If this notice has been given and the fixed term has expired, the court must make an order for possession.
