Why have HSE manuals and policies?
Health, safety and welfare at work are the subject of strict and all pervading legislation. Compliance is essential. Because the subject is so large, we suggest you read our free information page.
Who will use this manual?
HSE13 is a comprehensive 'all round' manual for use in the construction industry. It is suitable for small 'handymen' firms, with only a handful of employees, up to a construction business with 5,000 employees. It encompasses all types of construction from concreting, scaffolding, building, carpentry, welding and more.
We have identified the main causes of accidents and ill health within the industry and targeted these aspects in detail. You can be sure that this manual will aid compliance with all building regulations, including the latest CDM regulations.
Processes specific to your business entail specific risks. The more specialised and dangerous your operations, the more you must liaise with your H&S inspectorate and take detailed advice on aspects of your H&S policy which will require additions to your manual. What we have provided in this version are comprehensive and detailed provisions relating to the construction industry.
If you know of specific risks local to your business, we can draft a bespoke document for you.
Lengthy but not laborious
As you will deduce from the size of these documents, they are very thorough. However, they are written in plain English. The size of the documents is merely so that all areas of HSE legislation are covered.
