Why have HSE manuals and policies?
Health, safety and welfare at work are the subject of strict and all pervading legislation. Compliance is essential. Because the subject is so large, we suggest you read our free information page.
Who will use this manual?
HSE07 is a comprehensive all round manual for use in the agriculture industry, specifically, for farms where animal stock is produced pigs, cattle, sheep, or any other animals except poultry. We have a specific poultry HSE Manual.
We have identified the main causes of accidents and ill health within the industry and targeted these aspects in detail. Within the farming industry there are many different sectors such as forestry, farming cattle, pig farming, chicken farming, organic farms and crop-only farms. This manual deals with the most important health and safety issues when farming with animals of any kind, except poultry. We have a specific poultry HSE Manual.
Processes specific to your business entail specific risks. The more specialised and dangerous your operations, the more you must liaise with your H&S inspectorate and take detailed advice on aspects of your H&S policy which will require additions to your manual. What we have provided in this version are comprehensive and detailed provisions relating to the farming industry.
If you know of specific risks local to your business, we can draft a bespoke document for you.
