About this agreement

This document is suitable for letting holiday property for a short time (from a couple of days to a season) anywhere in the world. You could use it to let a seaside holiday cottage, a ski chalet, a city apartment or a country villa with a pool.

We have two versions of the agreement. This one is a slightly more formal and comprehensive version set out as an agreement to be signed by both parties. Our use of plain English helps ensure that the holiday maker understands what he or she has agreed.

The alternative is drawn as non-negotiable terms and conditions. You can send it out in response to an enquiry or post it on your property's website (if you have one).

Note that you shouldn't use this document where the client is a business or for a holiday let of more than four months (simply to avoid the holidaymaker acquiring tenancy rights in law).

Contents

  • About the parties, the property and the background to the agreement
  • Rent, deposit against good behaviour
  • Large menu of “promises" setting out what the guests can and cannot do

As with all Net Lawman documents, we include explanatory notes to guide you as to how to edit the document.
