About these terms and conditions for a tour operator
This is a model terms and conditions template for a tour operator or travel company. Suitable for all-inclusive general holidays, specialist tours or “meet on site” arrangements, where clients organise their own flights and travel to the meeting point.
This document is suitable for companies that offer all sorts of holidays, from day trips locally with few additional services provided, to all inclusive holidays around the world lasting weeks. Your business might specialise in a particular type of holiday such as archaeological tours, or it might be a generalist offering package tours to popular beach locations.
The document helps you to comply with the Package Travel Regulations 1992. The terms are written to protect you but are fair to your clients as well.
Customising the terms and conditions template for your business
Your terms and conditions reflect how your business works and therefore are unique to your company. The way that most holiday and tour companies work is similar (for example, in having a cancellation policy), but the detail will vary between companies (such as how many days notice is required before a deposit is lost). This template reflects standard practices within the travel industry and it should give you a very good basis for your own terms. However, you will need to spend a little time customising it to reflect how your business works.
In the travel industry many contractual terms are also part of the explanation of what is provided and how and where and when. For this reason, we have followed the industry practice of presenting the terms in a layout that does to look like a legal document. That does not mean that the legal effect is in any way diminished.
We prefer this less formal format because your customers are more likely to feel happy buying from you if they understand your terms and don't feel overwhelmed by legal jargon. We also feel that the format is more suitable for brochures and web sites, where you are likely to display them.

I was pleased to find a document that closely matched my needs. It has saved me time and I am pleased with the look and content of the finished document. It was easy to edit and the language is clear, although I remember correcting a spelling or grammatical mistake in the text somewhere. I have paid a reasonable price for the document and it's now on my website, publication any time now. I plan to ask colleagues to review it so will wait before recommending your products, however at this stage I have no reason not to recommend Net Lawman. I think the only uncertainty is (and this is the same for all online templates) about the degree to which it will stand up to challenge. Maybe you can respond to that to reassure me? Your service has been very efficient, thank you.
Net Lawman responds 09 January 2014
The point you raise is very important to many of our customers. Please forgive the style; space is limited. We sell templates, not final documents, so we can give no guarantee as to what your edited version will be.
The Net Lawman mission is to draw documents which heavily protect you as our customer but also give you the essential practical, commercial framework. If you have an argument, we want your other party to be told by his solicitor: "No, sorry, this agreement does not help you. You have no case."By drawing documents in plain English, your other party can easily understand what he has agreed to and is therefore less likely to go to his solicitor at all. We are trying to keep you out of court altogether.
I hope this is not tempting providence, in 12 years, no customer has ever told us of any litigation, let alone suggested we were at fault.
Finally, 10% of our documents are sold to solicitors, accountants and business advisers.I make no promises, but I am confident that our document templates are unquestionably the best you can buy.

I used Net Lawman primarily as you had a template I wanted. It purportedly meets the requirements of the Package Travel regulations.Yes I would recommend Net Lawman to others again for the reason you have a contract my clients needed.
