  In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 22(3) of the Human Rights Act 1998[1], I hereby make the following Order:
 
  1- This Order may be cited as the Human Rights Act 1998 (Commencement No. 2) Order 2000.
     
  2. The day appointed for the coming into force of those provisions of the Human Rights Act 1998 that are not already in force is 2nd October 2000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
 
  This Order appoints 2nd October 2000 as the date on which those provisions of the Human Rights Act 1998 that are not already in force will come into force. The provisions give further effect to the European Convention on Human Rights.
   
  Section 19 (statements of compatibility) was brought into force on 24th November 1998 by the Human Rights Act 1998 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1998 (S.I. 1998/2882).
