  How we charge

for services other than provision of documents and forms

The following notes are extracted from our terms and conditions and are given for guidance only.

  • We charge £120 plus VAT per hour spent on your work.
Probate work is charged at £105 per hour.

  • Our time calculation includes time spent looking over your documents, advising you by telephone or e-mail, as well as drafting letters and documents.

  • We will give you an estimate for your work if we are able to calculate how long it will take. If we cannot, we will tell you we can work only against an hourly rate.

  • We work only against cash in advance. You can top up your account in any sum you wish. The minimum sum to start is £99.

  • VAT is charged extra to all quoted prices.

  • We do not charge extra for normal office expenses. We do charge for travel if you require this.

  • You will receive an invoice automatically when you pay us through our web site. If you pay by cheque, no invoice will be issued.

  • We will tell you the balance on your account any time you ask.

  • When we have finished your work, we will send back to you any balance of your money.

  • The solicitors' monopoly prevents us from conducting litigation or drafting documents to transfer real property, but we may advise you on any such document. We are associated with a number of barristers who will undertake any employment law work, from simple advice to drafting a letter, to complete case management, through a tribunal, to the Appeals Tribunal. In those case, your payment will be as they advise.

Example of help we give every day:

  • Client buys shareholders' agreement. She knows she needs it but is not certain what should go in it.
  • Client sends us message but does not give all the information we need.
  • We contact client be telephone and find out details of the problem. We agree a start cost £300 - not quite a fixed price but we both know where we are aiming.
  • Client pays £300 into her new account through our website, then telephones to confirm done.
  • We look at information and ring client for clarification of a few points.
  • We produce first draft agreement and e-mail to client within 48 hours of payment.
  • Client comes back with comments and additional points.
  • We produce second draft and send to client.
  • Client rings with a couple of final points.

Client uses document “Taylor made” to her requirements within four days of having first telephoned.

Professional time spent, all in - 3 hours 10 minutes.

Cost to client                                    £300

Saving over solicitors                     £580, plus travel to their office
Based on commercial specialist rate of £220 per hour and solicitor taking instructions manuscript across a desk.Total time 4 hours.

You could make saving like this! Why risk the words being wrong when the solution costs so little?
