About this document
This is an agreement between the company (owner of the multimedia) and the developer.  It sets out the terms to develop interactive media by combining traditional image-production techniques (like film and video) with the help of computers.
The term ‘multimedia’ is used in contrast to media which only utilise traditional forms of printed or hand-produced text and still graphic. Multimedia in this context includes a combination of text, audio, still images, animation, video and interactivity content forms. Multimedia is usually recorded and played, displayed or accessed by processing devices such as computers but can also be part of a live event or performance. For example, a prime example of when to use this document is when you, the company, have an animated film to produce and you require the help of a developer to develop a character.
This multimedia development agreement has been drawn specifically for the development of a CD-ROM but can be amended very easily to suit any other media.
As drawn, the developer is responsible for designing, developing and programming the media product components; and designing the multimedia product documentation, including all user guides, instruction guides, notes and other information in any form. The document is for the development of material only, not the entire media.
It provides for the company to own all the intellectual property rights in the interactive media to the exclusion of the developer.
This agreement is suitable for any business requiring media in any form, notably a CD ROM, or, any multimedia developer.  It can be used as ‘my business terms and conditions’ if used by a multimedia developer.
