About this document
This is an agreement between a company and a producer for the production of a motion picture, television series or film in digital stereo sound with video comprising text graphics and animated sequences.
Simply put, it is a terms and conditions document for the producer to hand to the client (the company – quite often a television station) to govern how, when and where he shall produce the multimedia – television programme, series or film. Alternatively, the television station may use this document as their standard terms between themselves and various producers.
As drawn, the producer is responsible for production and delivery of the media as per the specifications provided by the company. It is producer’s responsibility to hire directors, editors, producers, artists, performers, scriptwriters and other persons required for the production of the media.
The company owns all intellectual property rights in the series, film or other media, absolutely and forever. The producer has no right with respect to the intellectual property in the media except the moral right to be identified as the creator of the media.
