A road traffic accident is treated in law in just the same way as any other type of accident. The injured party must establish that the accident is someone else's fault, or at least partly someone else's fault.
Liability is often difficult to prove unless you are the victim of a straight forward rear end collision. Generally, accidents on roundabouts are counted as 50:50. Accidents at traffic lights often need the services of a witness as, do lane-change accidents.
You then need to establish quantum which is less difficult to prove. You need three independent repair estimates supported by an automotive engineer's report - the cost of which can be added to the claim.
