The Pensions Act 2007 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2007
 
  Made 22nd October 2007  
       
  The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 30(2) of the Pensions Act 2007(1).
1- Citation and interpretation
  (1) This Order may be cited as the Pensions Act 2007 (Commencement No. 1) Order 2007.
  (2) In this Order “the Act” means the Pensions Act 2007.
2- Appointed day
  The day appointed for the coming into force of—
    (a) section 17 of the Act (removal of Secretary of State’s role in approving actuarial guidance);
    (b) Schedule 5 to the Act (removal of Secretary of State’s role in approving actuarial guidance); and
    (c) Part 8 of Schedule 7 to the Act (removal of Secretary of State’s role in approving actuarial guidance), and section 27(7) of the Act in so far as it relates to that Part, is 1st November 2007.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
 
This Order brings into force on 1st November 2007 section 17 of, and Schedule 5 and Part 8 of Schedule 7 (and section 27(7) in so far as it relates to that Part) to, the Pensions Act 2007 (c.22) which relate to the removal of the Secretary of State’s role in approving actuarial guidance.
