You don’t need legal knowledge to use our documents. We explain what to edit and how in the guidance notes included at the end of the document.

Our documents comply with the latest relevant law. Our lawyers regularly review how new law affects each document in our library.
About this document
These are terms of use for a site that does not sell online and that does not have interactive functionality such as forums.
Examples of sites that might use these terms include:
those promoting a business that does not take payment online, such as an accountancy practice, building tradesman or car dealership
those describing products or services
club and association websites that publish information without allowing member interaction
those acting as information resources on a particular subject
Unless you can ask all your site visitors to agree to the terms (which is usually done at a point of sale), this document is unlikely to be contractually binding. However, our strong limitation of liability provisions do provide low level protection and would make it difficult for someone to claim financial damage from you. The template also provides contractual protection to all of your intellectual property - text, images, layout and so on.
Alternative documents
If your site visitors can interact with your site, for example, by posting comments on a blog, our T&C for a moderated directory, blog or review site might be more appropriate.
If you sell online, terms for e-commerce might be more appropriate.
